Yup - I got the recipie book just after it came out. I've not made much from it, though - Klatchian Djellibabies are nice, but a big fiddle to make.

Ooh, there are plenty more puns where that last one came from! Just be thankful my friend Iain isn't on the Fforum, that's all I have to say. He can out-pun anyone I know.

Ah, I have plenty of practice with the sci-fi society. I'm getting quite proficient with the air gun, air rifle and air bazooka. :)

I nominate Ooktavia to out-pun Jim Slip, to whose incarnation in this world Sarah refers.

Yea, verily! That would in sooth be a fair and glorious battle!

Off looking for something to tempt PSD with?

Like... chocolate flavoured ice cream?

Or a pint of Guinness?

Ah, there you may have me.

btw, Miss B, do you fancy a drink before seeing Mr Ff in Brum? If you're feeling particularly daring you're quite welcome to come climbing with me that afternoon...

It's not a question of would I like to, more of can I.

I'm not sure at the moment, it all depends on how things pan out for the 11th. They way they're going at the moment I'm not sure I can make it at all... darn college and whatnot.

I'll let you know closer to the time at any rate - I assume you're not the sort of person that needs three weeks advance notice?

I'm not the sort of person that needs three hours notice, if I'm totally honest...

Lordy. I don't like the sound of this college nonesense. Far too much in the way of exams and work and whatnot for my liking. I'm sure we didn't go back after our exams had finished (although we didn't do external exams in the lower sixth).

Sarah B: Any ideas what you're doing next ? I can suggest a very good dept for elec eng... There's some very good lecturers here; not just nutters like me !

Well, at the moment I'm looking at a Natural Sciences degree, hopefully at Cambridge, if not then Birmingham. That way I can do Physics and Geology. I'm really interested in the geology of Mars and the like, so I figured that a combined degree would be the best way to go.

I'm not sure how many jobs there are in Martian mining companies, but nevertheless...

And college is far too much work. Far, far too much. :)

Nat Sci is a really good degree - I almost swapped to it from Ecology, but decided that I wanted to do the research project for Ecology, and I couldn't do one if I did Nat Sci. A blessing and a curse, as it turned out...

Combined degrees are really hard work.

Never believe a departments word about it's courses. Speak to a harrassed final year undergrad and get his / her opinion. Mostly 'lecturers' have little or no idea what is going on.

Is just about everyone on the fforum in college? Or at least have been to college? Am I the only under-educated person here?

I'm beginning to feel a little unworthy. (Cue encouraging comments)

Meanwhile, don't feel unencouraged! You're intelligent enough to be here, aren't you?
