No, no, it's "exit" - we just did 'The Winter's Tale' for my housemate's MFA project. Guess who played the bear!

I never did understand Shakespeare. The closet I got to understanding Macbeth was Wyrd Sisters.

On an unrelated note, I like Eugene Ionesco, the French Absurdist dramatist. He once wrote a play called 'Macbett' (zoinks, plagiarism!) in which Shakespearean tragedy met nihilist commentary on the repetition of history. At the end of the play, Malcolm whacked Macbett (the name you can say without upsetting superstitious actors!), then took centre stage and boldly announced his plans to become an oppressive tyrant and eventually get whacked by a former protege. Classy stuff.

Didn't he write Rhinoceros?

Yes it was definitely "Exit, pursued by a bear".

At my last job, I once got simultaneously labelled as an intellectual snob and a troublemaker for ending the minutes of a particularly fractious staff meeting with the comment "Exeunt omnes, pursued by a bear." Myself, I just thought it was funny.

That's the feller. Good old 'Rhinoceros' - it's 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' for pachyderm fanciers, I tells ya. He also wrote 'La cantatrice chauve' (trans. 'The Bald Prima Donna', and also 'The Bald Soprano'), a play inspired entirely by an attempt to learn English that went wrong.

I've just realised, this didn't stay a Farscape discussion very long, did it?

Erm, no. What did you expect?

Actually, I am rather fond of Muppets in Space though -- but it's not a patch on the original version (though that was actually called "Pigs in Space" come to think of it).

Never saw Muppets in Space - that one passed me by. However, the Muppets were responsible for me knowing the story of Treasure Island and A Christmas Carol :D (It amazed me when I read the books how closely the scriptwriters had stuck to the storylines)

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum...

I love the song they sing about the ocean... Can't remember it all now, but it's something like 'sailing along on the deep blue wet thing'.

And the Swedish chef is in there too. 'Bork, bork bork...'

One of my boys favourite movies, Muppet Treasure Island. And since I grew up with the Muppets it brings back several glorious memories. My only complaint is that Gonzo doesn't play his trumpet in any of the movies.
