Leeds Signing

OK. A plan is forming for the Leeds meet...

Folks are coming from hither and yon to get to Leeds for 7:00. The chappie in Waterstones reckons about an hour and a half for the reading and signing. We know Jasper's a nice chap and there's going to be quite a few of us so I'm planning to book a restaurant for 9:00. I was thinking of Dinos which is, literally, under the station. A very nice Italian place.

I know this is a bit late but Andrea says there are later trains. This involves changing but isn't too much of a problem as there'll be a few of you. Jon's also looking at trains back over the Pennines but they run to Manchester all night (very strange getting a train at 3am - full of clubbers worse for wear, dressed in all manner of skimpy clothing and a couple of travellers off to the airport with lots of suitcases and appropriate warm clothing) so that should be OK.

Any thoughts ??
Tell me numbers.

You can definitely count me in, and also Dave Rainbow (subject, as always, to possible cancellation due to antics of ex-wife).

Me three.

Crossing my fingers for punctual trains, I'm worried I've left it a bit late... but it meant I didn't have to change.

And what book to bring for the train? Ah, decisions...

Right. I'll book a table for several.

Anyone else interested let me know. I'll probably phone early next week.

Skiffle: I shall be on the 17.53 from Sheffield station, with or without Dave Rainbow. He's going, but not necessarily on the same train, as he is making vague noises about a day out in Leeds if the weather is good. Each to their own!

A @#$%& day return costs £6.10, which is not bad. (I think Andrea has already mentioned this, but it's worth repeating, because to be honest I'd forgotten, so I may not be the only one!)

Oops, my mistake. Saw this thread and thought it was a Leeds United signing. Well after all the Beckham headlines my brain has gone fuzzy. Sorry I'll leave you to your arrangements. Hope you have wonderful time by the way.

Well, you can come too, you know. And don't be silly ... Leeds U won't be signing anything except cheques for all their creditors for a bit.

I haven't a clue which way it goes, to be honest, but I do know it's a fast train, so I suspect it may be Rotherham. Oh well, whatever happens, we'll all see one another when we get there!

Dave might have a good idea there; I haven't actually been to Leeds in about a decade, and it's a good place for browsing and shopping. I asked a friend who works there if Granary Wharf market is still there and I'm sure Erica said yes, so that's worth checking out.

If Dave wants to go earlier, there's no reason why you should stay behind and work Tell Dave July 16 is a bank holiday in Middle Earth, and let's go shop !

A bank holiday in Middle Earth... great idea, but do they have banks?

I've no idea, but they have very bonny ones in Scotland. Oh, and braes, too.

This is very important; can we make sure at least one of us brings a digital camera tomorrow night? I haven't got one, and Adam's in Italy. The prompt appearance of an internationally important journal depends on this.

Thank you.

well, if you all want WN to take longer to get published, don't bring a digi...

you'll just have to wait for Jon to get his film developed. And I think I remember Jon telling me he still has rolls from Christmas of '88 to do...

someone please take a digi!
