Not really, but never miss the chance of a good pun I say. Our own Panjandrum was signing books in Harrow (which is in North London for our overseas readers) last night, as per schedule, and my friend Owen, otherwise known as LJ user addedentry, was there. I quote from hs report;
'Mr Fforde lived up to expectations: he was urbane, unpretentious without false modesty, better-looking than his jacket pic and, well, a complete sweetie. He spoke candidly about his trials en route to publication and how his ideas had been improved by the copyright restrictions on using other people's fictional characters. It's obvious that he's a literary geek: he'd had rubber stamps made to decorate our title pages and offers a Book Upgrade Service for typos and plot holes'.
I didn't know Mr. Ff was urbane; I thought he lived in the country ...
