I would like to unofficially (since I have no official standing) remind anyone who might be tempted to post more often than they might otherwise be inclined, simply to move up this (purely calculated for curiosity's sake) list, to keep in mind that Jasper receives every single post made here in his email box. Therefore, posting without actually having anything to say could have the effect of inadvertantly spamming poor Jasper. And we do want him to have time to write the next book, right?

Agreed. And not just out of a desire to remain top of the pile (look, it's not actually worth anything, so no matter how much you want to knock me off - you'll only feel hollow afterwards when you realise there are no more challenges left').

I don't care about post counts (apart from I must be higher than sofi, my friend, we're about 2000 posts above everyone else cos we have an undying rivalry)

Actually, thinking about that, the post counts are normal. I'm just used to my post counts elsewhere which were always so much higher than is sensible. :)

Jasper -- don't read this , it's pointless

In reply to Magda and PSD, I'd just like to say that:

(1) if Jasper and Mari are actually reading all this stuff, they obviously have far too much time on their hands and so should stop it come and do a reading in Cambridge instead

(2) Hello Jasper. Hello Mari. Thanks for everything! You're fab.

(3) But you never do what you're told, do you? (see title and points 1 and 2 above).

I believe they usually just skim them to make sure there's nothing horribly offensive. They do not, in fact, have time to read everything, especially these days.

Yeah, when certain people rack up two pages of new posts in one day...

Tsk...

I protest, according to my profile I've got 101 posts. This is 102.

I've always liked even numbers better than odd anyway.

Just a random protest. Bravenet is "having technical difficulties". Felt like a rant.

Ah, yes, I've had to switch to ICQ to get a conversation...

I'm on AIM. ICQ consistantly crashes my pc so I don't use it anymore.

AIM hated me, refused to accept that I exist, so I gave up and deleted it....

There is a company Trilliam that will coordinate all the IM services you use into one. I can't get it to work properly at home but it's great at work.

ICQ will work at work but not at home. Maybe I'll download it again and re-try it.

[go.icq.com] might do the trick - Violet recomended it to me and it worked fine here, although I've now got ICQlite

Java I can deal with. ICQ # is 317449464.

Someone send me a message and see if it works.
