Where have I been?!

It seems as if the world has just continued on while I hibernated under a book... the Fforum is full up, I have no idea what it's about and I've just read WoLP (finally, Amazon doesn't suck!) and can't figure out the code word! Aargh!

Oh there we go...

You're back! And you've read it. Dammit! But that's fine. splat21 (or AlisonS) is an absolutely wonderful individual and is posting me a copy.

But welcome back, ilovespike. We've missed you.

Welcome back! And there's a huge hint available in the Well Of Lost Plots fforum...

Several rather enormous hints, in fact.

I know, I've just seen. You know you guys are so talented at subtlety!

Poor Kaz, not having WoLP yet! Believe me, it's as good as the hype.

I'm glad to be back; it's just not fun if you don't have strange fforum ideas going round you're head!

from me :)

yup, that's us...subtle as "a brass band marching through a graveyard"

(that was a saying my grandmother had...always loved that one)

Welcome back though!

Subtle as a steam rolling going down hill is another one.

glad you're back, was starting to worry you'd run off with a marine.

Welcome back! :)

I always like the saying 'As subtle as a sledgehammer'...

I like "subtle as a brick", meaning subtle as a well thrown brick through a window, or a brick dropped on your head.

Holly - that's very, very clever that one...

Quicker than a French manhunt, too.

I'm about as subtle as a dozen brieze blocks tied to someone's feet with a ton of lead and thrown onto the River Ankh according to my friends.

Don't see it myself.

There's a hole in my creativity bucket and it's all leaked out.

Hmm, have a look at your sig then... Talking of which, surely I'm not the worst punner here?

(Is the collective noun for 'em punnets?)

Thanks Holly *sarcasm is rebounding off the walls*.

No, I have not run of with a marine, although my parents decided to tell my sister and I about "the dangers of the internet" *snore*. But anyway I think I have a sufficeint degree of intelligence so as not to run away with someone twice my age.

I think I'm probably the only one in the Fforum that sucks at puns. In Queenstown I noticed a street called Sugar Lane, and promptly said "Oh, that's so sweet!" without realising at all what I'd done!

Everyone, I know I musn't degrade you by recommending kid's books to you, but The Wee Free Men is really Glod!

Read it.

from me (who may be liable to spraying pepper spray at her laptop when their is mention of marines....)

:)

Glod, eh? That's quite a recommendation, maybe I shall read it.

I'm still waiting for WOLP, too. I might even have to wait for the overstressed librarian to cover it. No way I'm paying for a hardcover Fforde book... yet ...

"I'm not the worst punner here? (Is the collective noun for 'em punnets?)"

Punnet would be a little pun. The collective noun's got to be punters, or pundits.

How about "pundites"?

Is a punnette a sexist/feminist pun?

Welcome back ILS! Seems a bit strange for your parents to be warning you about the internet - should it not be "don't tell strangers on the internet that you're 19 when really you're 12 so they end up getting arrested"?
Remember - people on the internet may not be who they say they are ... lol! kind of backfired that time folks...

Okay, fine. He went to England to meet here becasue he thought she was 19. That I can cope with. But you can't tell me he didn't cotton on to her age as soon as he saw her, and yet he STILL jumped on a plane to Paris with her. And even if he was so dumb as to not get the age thing straight up, what about all those news reports flying around the world? Gimme a break. He may not have started it, but he was a willing participant.
