I'm confused by the whole thing from start to finish, frankly. The thing is that I know someone who's not a lot older who is entirely capable of doing the same kind of thing. She's always out in town drinking, and her parents know about it but don't stop her. I could see her thinking it would be a good idea to swan off with some bloke a lot older than her.

It doesn't make it right, but it means I can see how it might happen.

There's a lot more to come out of this story, I think.
