There are a few unrelated people at my school with the name, only most just pronounce it as Enn-Gee, even when they know it's Nn.

my surname is just ng, but i get called nggy very muchly ya see.
i believe it's more popular outside of china, places like the phillapines and stuff, but the guy i got it from (like a disease) was hong kong-ish.

nggy (sounds like sing or bing. not a mammal with bowel trouble)

There are quite a few Ngs in the UK - in fact, it may possibly have the distinction of being the shortest surname in the local phone book. If they charge by the letter, you could save on name tapes that way!
