Do you realise it's twenty to midnight - again? I thought you were just coming round to check your e-mails!

O good grief.

And I was talking to such NICE people ---

I could always retire the Tiny and take it home, get a phone line --- but then I would have to face temptation ---.

Glum. Has to leave. Sorry Sarah, I'm amazed you don't make more fuss.

Sleep well both of you...

In separate houses.

I just work and use the internet here.

Sarah and I are not 'involved', and never have been, just in case anyone is confused about this.

We know that. Relax. And let poor Sarah sleep!

Dave R - as a relative newbie (less than 3 weeks) I've been looking at old threads. Did you ever put the whole of the Nextarillion anywhere? I don't want to just read the end, and I don't know where the beginning is.

Thanks for the interest. With your permission I'll e-mail you the lot, it's 800k (97,000 words), or I could send a disk if you prefer. Still got floppy, or need CD? I don't send e-mails that big without checking the recipient first.

I'm in Sheffield, you can't be far away. There's lots of us in Sheffield -
Sarah, Skiffle, Andrea, Dell, Mist, Roy - I've probably missed someone.

I'm sorry to say there's a Goliath subsidiary in Notts ---

Dave R - Ta, I'll send you my address for a floppy. My home PC is steam driven, and work get a bit funny about big emails.

Used to use a mainframe called the 1906S - date of manufacture, 'Steam', was the common opinion.

Don't tell me you still have DOS? I still have to resort to it to get some jobs done. Windows XP Pro is great, but some programs seem to have been written purely to use the interface and then do nothing useful or get everything wrong.

Not quite DOS, but my home PC is leather bound and has a starting handle.

(this one's best said out loud really but...)

I once knew a leather-bound DOS programmer for whom "C: ENTER" meant something entirely different.

Actually come to think of it, that was probably best left unsaid altogether...

Yes, it was, but only after you said it.

Actually, I could use an email copy myself. I printed out a good portion of it, and then misplaced it after reading only partway through. Haven't had time to gather it again.

Glad to oblige. 800k+. If you get any problems, let me know. I used to have my entire system jammed with emails like that until I got broadband, so I usually check first. I'll get them both off to you right away.

How far did you get, Magda? It really gets quite different from 'Chapter Minsky', which is Sarah's favourite bit.

I'm glad everyone wants a copy of the Nextarillion, but your Italian chicken thing is getting cold down here...

Go eat your Italian chicken thing. We'd really hate you to miss that. ARe you sure you two aren't married? She cooks for you, she tells you whento go to bed, you have seperate rooms. Sounds like the perfect marriage to me.

BTW would you mind posting a floppy to Aus for me?
