Okay, here's a quick handy guide for any newbies.

1: Goto [pub8.bravenet.com]

2: Wait for ages for the java bit to load (or, if you have broadband, use this opportunity to feel smug)

3: Enter your name where it says 'Your name:'

4: Below it there's a box for 'Your Profile'. This can be used to tell everyone where you are. Be a good person and fill it in. Or say 'sod it' and skip this step like i always do.

5: Click on 'Chat!' - it does exactly what it says on the box. A new window pops up with the chatroom in it.

6: Right, here's the hard bit. You need to use your skill and judgement to work out where to type. It's the lighter blue strip that you're looking for.

7: Now you've found it, say 'hi' to the room, and write something witty.

8: If you get disconnected you'll have to refresh the original window and sign back in. You may need to use a different name, however. I frequently end up with two of me.

And, er, that'd be it.

9. Remember NOT to close the Bravenet window or you will be disconnected from the main chat.

it's really kind of aqua.

It's really more of a pale turquoise if you ask me.

If you are really good about getting cut off and logging back in there can be 3 or 4 of you in the room (psd is very good at this) at the same time and you can have a conversation all by yourself.

And if you try to type something too long, you will get disconnected. I do this a lot.
