This is the work of an Italian narco-anarchic collective. Don't bother insulting them, they can't read English anyway.

If the English language made any sense, a catastrophe would be an apostrophe with fur.

Wonderful! Nice find, Sarah!

And did anyone else forrow the rinks and stumble across the quaintly named "Jaspars"?

How on earth did you find that web site, Sarah? It's a classic!

I bought myself a @#$%& polystyrene aeroplane from the Post Office a couple of years ago. It didn't last very long, mostly because Diesel chewed it up, but the instructions alone were worth the money. I knew I was on to a classic of mangled English with the first three words:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MANUAL OF ASSEMBLE

1. Put the support No2 of main plane and tail plane No3 on to the trunk No1.
2. In the match condition, to insert the part of convex of support No2 and main plane No4 in the trunk.
3. Assemble the part No. 5, 6, and No 7 to be the propellor.
4. Insert the propellor in thr(sic) trunk.
5. Assemble the wheel No9 on the shaft No8 then put it on trunk.
6. Put the shaft No8 on the front of the trunk.

HOW TO PLAY

Adjust the elevator of tail plane up and down, the the nose of airplane can be raise or take down, or somersualt and revolution.
You can play it by any adjustment way.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Genius, eh ?

Kaz: I originally found that website by an extremely weird route. I followed a link from my friend Fiona's site to a site called "Cthulhu Coffee", and from there I discovered another link to the joys of Engrish. What's it got to do with Cthulhu? Absolutely nothing, but the people who run the CC site thought it was hilarious, and so did I! It's been on my Favourites list ever since.

I know one of the guys who designed Cthulhu Coffee. How spooky is that?

I passed on the Rupert Bear/Cthulhu link to them, and they thought it was very good.

Weird. I keep finding people on this Fforum who know someone (apart from me, obviously) who knows Fiona.

Incidentally, Fiona thought the Rupert Bear/Cthulhu crossover was brilliant, too.

Fiona's from Canada, but her site is not; she's an anthropology lecturer at Oxford.

We're not all mad, really ... I know at least one sane Canadian, oh wait, she's American ...

I've introduced a Canadian with whom I'm in contact through an amateur magazine (mainly about roleplaying games, but almost as likely to go off-topic as this fforum...) called 'Alarums & Excursions' to Jasper's books, but he seems to be unwilling _ or just too busy _ to join us here.

There certainly doesn't seem to be many of us about on the fforum, Simon. Maybe that will change when WOLP is released here in September ....

Fiona's not sane, exactly, but who needs sanity when you've got sheer class?

Jen _
I think that one or two (or maybe three, but no more than that) of the other contributors have also identified themselves as Canadians, so far, although I don't recall offhand which ones those actually were. However I agree that this does still leave you as one of the rarer nationalities to be found in these e-pages...
