And even splitting your attempt at the 20'000th post up like that didn't get you anywhere near back into 5th place in the list: Kaz seems to have that position secured now, having overtaken me (earlier this week) by more posts than I'm likely to match before she comes back on-line again...
I didn't split the attempt! The first post was about 19,980. Came back on, saw it was at 19,999, posted, went out, checked it had gone to 20,000, then posted to say I'd done it.
And I know I've dropped some places. I just can't keep up with you lot.

I've done a quick check on the current statistics for the people who were around you in the list, and those who were rising the most rapidly towards that cluster. By my reckoning you're now in the 11th place, as Sarah B has climbed past you (and just past Dante, who was at #9), but haven't yet dropped any further down the list... Dave Rainbow is only about twenty posts behind you, however, and of course some of our newer contributors are posting rapidly, so if you're going to be away from us for that long...
Have a nice holiday, if a holiday is why you're going to be out of contact, or a nice whatever if there's some other reason for this.

Unless I missed somebody when I was checking up you're still in 7th place (because, as has already been mentioned, both Kaz & I have overtaken you since I drew up the list in which you were at 5th place), and are just over a hundred posts clear of Magda who's in 8th place. Jon is still in 3rd place, between Sarah and AAC.
Tracy, when you said "I'd be happy to Simon", I think you might've just inadvertently invented a new verb there!
"To simon - to update a Forum post count, to produce a list of users and their rankings"
PS while I'm about it, can I also say "thanks" to Simon?
In reply to Intrigue's statement over on the "It's That Game Again..." thread that "The 1543 publication of Nicolaus Copernicus' evidence that the earth revolves around the sun changed...", Simon replied "nothing about the way in which the Solar System REALLY works."
- which gladdens my heart, since of course it Ptolemy's geocentric (ie earth-based) theory that held sway for some 1400 years before Copernicus. Excellent! Knew the old chap would be proved right sooner or later!
The fforum post count was done, it was typed, it was about to be copied to a new thread. It was not however saved, so when the network here collapsed into a pile of rubble, the list was on the bottom.
Must now re-type. Repeat after me; save often, save often.
