I think that one of the main reasons why I never seriously considered archaeology as a career, after doing a degree in it, is that I hate camping. Digs always involve camping, or living in pretty damn primitive conditions. Having to get half dressed in the middle of the night and walk across a field in the wet and/or cold, is not my idea of fun.
