Fforum Member Things You Don't Need To Know

This thread replaces the previous "Meet the Fforum" which was getting a bit long and slow to load.

To restart - as it were or is - let me say:

I'm Robert. I've got a 2000AD collection that dates back to 1982 and every issue of the Megazine. I'm 6ft 1in and 80kg.

Beat that, pencil necks.

Robert - you and my brother both - I love 2000AD.

I'm Gill and I download Australian episodes of Neighbours to stay 3 months ahead of UK.

I'm 5' 5" and weigh more than I'd like!

I should hope you wear more than a watch in public, no matter how strategically placed.

I'm Susan. I like math. I'm a nerd. But I'm cool with that.

I'm [transmission garbled]. I have the map of Tolkein's Middle Earth painted on my bedroom wall. I'm also a nerd. But I'm also cool with it.

I'm Hayley. I post without realising that people have moved onto new threads and am *cough*a student*cough*. I've also missed you guys! Looking at recent posts looks like I've missed a lot, but then again I throw like a girl, possibly because I am...

Hi, I'm Barefoot Andy. I have an array of latex weapons propped against my wardrobe, and I've had to cut my sideburns to sensible lengths while looking for a job. I'm also a nerd and cool with it (Why can't I shake the feeling this is some form of support group?). I've been known to do RSA encryption on paper. For fun.

EDIT: Oh and Robert, exactly what point in 1982? It's cutting it fine for me on the whole "longer then I've been alive thing"...

I'm Lady Teaspoon. I'm new here, but I too am a nerd and darn proud of it. My name occured when someone who used to call me Lady MacBeth started calling me Lady TheScottishPlay, which then got shortened to Lady T.S.P which also stands for teaspoon.

Just FYI for all the fans of the Bard out there.

For Barefoot Andy's peace of mind, it was 2000AD ('in orbit every Monday') Prog 280, Sept 4, 1982 and cost 18p (about 40cents in Oz) - Otto Sump was on the cover. 2000AD is a weekly anthology comic (not a magazine) now up to Prog 1475 costing 1pound 75p ($6.60 in Oz).

Hi, I'm Kaz (pauses for chorus of 'Hi, Kaz.'). I'm a Tasmanian and damn proud of it, and my husbands grandfather was shot at Gallipoli at the Anzac landing, whihc is exactly 91 years ago today.

Hi, I'm PrinzHilde, and I have acted some as a politician for the past fifteen years, even though I am member to no party, thank you very much.

And do you know what? I have not played the piano for maybe six years now. Shame to me.

Hi, I'm Linda, and I used to play D+D for days on end, back in the days when all we had was squared paper (to compile a map) and some funny shaped dice. Oh, and I've read all of the 'Conan the Barbarian' novels (but no Terry Prachett).

AH! A fellow dice d&d nutter! You should get a giggle out of Pratchett's books- at least, the ones with Cohen in them.

- "What is it that a man may call the greatest things in life?"
- "Hot water, good dentishtry and shoft lavatory paper."

This is where I point to the stunning opal dice I really REALLY want but would never roll for fear of chipping them.

Yes, that's real opal folks, made in a lab, but still opal!

I'm numbers, I work for an amercain company, that may just be closeing the place soon, I've been running a Vampire the Masquarde table top game for the past 2 and a half years, so I'm guessing that puts me in the nerd corner. I recently attneded the Concussion Event in Glasgow and got my copy of Look To Windward signed by Ianin M banks, although it looks like he signed it to Bob.

Robert: "2000AD Prog 280, Sept 4, 1982."

Aha! I was alive in excess of one whole month before your collection started! So I'm obviously far older and wiser than some whippersnappers around here...

That makes me one of the youngsters around here....
