This isn't good enough

Well, this fforum has been running for some while now, and it's about time we got up to speed. I mean, how can we call ourselves a proper internet forum when we haven't had *one* flame war, *nobody* has been nasty to anybody else, we've only had *one* piece of spam (and that barely qualified), we've not had a single long insane rant about how Martians are spying on us, or the inside story of the world conspiracy, I mean, GSD save us, we haven't even had a disagreement about politics or religion! Dammit we don't even sneer at newbies, but actually make them welcome.

And all this despite the fact that I know for certain that there are people of several nationalities, religions and political viewpoints regularly posting here. It gets worse. Posters have been wilfully and with malice aforethought meeting up in real life and making friends with each other.

It won't do, you know. We shall be left behind by the information superhighway at this rate. Obviously we must be doing it wrong, because every other forum I've ever looked at has been full of all the things I note above, and we can't be the only ones who are doing it right. Surely being in such a minority makes us wrong.

Doesn't it?

No, I completely disagree.

Look, see how vicious I get when provoked? It's not a nice sight...

You should see me when I'm angry - it's almost like I've woken up...

I think the general thing is that we can see the difference between these here words displayed on this here box of electronic trickery, and those there words on that there other box of electrical trickery under the title of 'Jerry Springer', and behave accordingly.

I thought all those nurks on Jerry Stinger were acting anyway? What brought all this on was some of the stuff I read on other fforums .. there were people there I do not want knowing where I live. Shudder.

Mmmm. Sorry. Just eating some Swedidh milk choc there. Nice.

That's why I only post here, as it isn't full of other annoying, egotistical tits like myself. However, I would appreciate knowing where I live.

Which is something rarely seen round here...

Interesting fact - the NHS Direct website has a test to see if you're likely to be suffering from anxiety or depression, and my results read as follows:

"You scored more than 11 for anxiety and less than 8 for depression. This is a very significant score for anxiety which means that you are likely to be suffering from an anxiety disorder. However, your depression score is insignificant which means that you are unlikely to be suffering from depression.

You should contact your GP with the results of this test."

Surely, surely, this is one of those cases where 'Don't Panic' should be displayed in large, friendly letters...

Isn't that a bit like the Jerome K Jerome thing where he reads a lexicon of diseases and concludes he has them all? I 'm sure doing a test like that would make me anxious and depressed .....

Actually, the test is really to distinguish between the two rather than diagnose it, I think. Having checked that, I'm wrong. Ignore this post...

EDIT--> overconfessional gabbing removed..

I actually have 'Don't Panic' in large friendly letters as my wallpaper on my pc. I did set it up as a splash screen while it loaded, and considered setting the wallpaper to be 'Panic Now' once windows had started...

I've got the .bmp file if anyone wants it...

I know that I am depressed, and in fact I'm currently on medication to alleviate that condition... but the Thursday Next books, & this fforum, are better medicine...

Is it just me or is that John7R geezer from the above link a total nutjob?
It seems his precious Rev Angley has totally succeeded in brain washing him into believing everything he says regardless of any facts presented to the contrary (and despite several contradictions!).

PS does this count as a flame?
