Actually, I spent several hours reading the website - out of purely professional interest. There is one nutter on the 'other' side to even it up in some of the other threads. I'm not sure that flames count if posted well away from where they might see them...

mmm, I like this fforum. Most other forums I regularly hang out at have large meberships so you'll always get nut jobs and troll etc. (see slashdot.org, kuro5hin.org for examples). This fforum has a select membership and I can honestly say, I don' think there is anyone on this fforum I wouldn't get on with IRL, you're all a bunch of nice, intelligent, sensible, people. (with the possible exception of psd who is at least one of the above ;-)

[felt I ought to put a bit of a flame in. It was getting a bit sugary sweet for a minute there]

I must be one of the adjectives then, as despite my multiple personalities I refuse to categorise myself as 'a bunch of people'. Not on my own, anyway...

(With so many split personalities, you'd have thought that people would get on with one of them...)

Apparently I also have an anxiety disorder. Though I only scored an 8 - I'm not as anxious as you Ben!

I'm on a lot of other forums, and there's always people getting shirty there...

"What, like what *you* say has any merit!"

It's enough to give a girl a complex.

On second thoughts, perhaps that is why I am so anxious?

I've got years of practice, and only millimetres of fingernails... I got below eight for depression, which made me feel a bit down...

I don't know why people here are so friendly, but I think that part of it is because there aren't hundreds of us posting. Another part of it is probably due to nobody puting up opinions as facts - there are books I can't stand that others like, but we'll chat about why we feel like that as opposed to why we're right to feel like that and the other person is wrong. Much more informative, and liable to make you go back and read something again to see why.

Of course, most of the time we're just posting strange stuff of no consequence, which is highly unlikely to lead to too many arguments.

(although I got flamed at one place for always talking about beer or sex - which wasn't true anyway - despite never offering an opinion specifically to avoid being flamed!)

Hmm.... May be I should dip into some other places to see what I'm missing.

Although I tend to get wound up by incoherent rambling. A good argument/discussion is fine but when people are so stupid they miss the point then I can't be bothered. Fortunately that doesn't apply to anyone here.

I think we rather ignore the point and start talking about something else, rather than missing it....

We see the point, and blatantly carry on regardless in another direction entirely...

She says, blatently carrying on with the same topic.

You wouldn't get that if somebody was good enough to mention that the top tips for the Darwin Awards have been released - [www.darwinawards.com]

Minsky has been reading all this with interest, and wonders, in addition, if any of us can think of any other forum where cats would be so welcome.

I've still got the virus, by the way, so I'm a bit out of it at the moment.

Having met some of the posters in surreal life, I honestly have to say this fforum is likely full of peopl who are witty, funny, interestuing and laugh at my jokes *before* I explain them....
Such sensible people of course are few and far between in the real world, and this is sad.

Which leads me on to the next burning question...

Should we form a ccult?

My reality check has just bounced again.......

A Ccult?

Like a Celt, only bigger, perhaps...

I can deviate from the point...

Um... Crap weather we're having.

"Ploik." Oooh, Mildred says "Hi" and "Hell No." Which might have begun as "Hello". She's still a little disturbed by seeing 'her' picture around...

Can she say that? ...... no, cult ...... oh.

Apparently we shouldn't. Cults are bad, it seems, although blue oyster ones were alright.
