I've just finished reading "The Mill on the Floss".
*blows nose*
Not that I wanted a spoiler, but...
*grabs another sheaf of tissues*
...couldn't someone have just, you know, dropped a gentle hint that the ending would not be all sweetness and light?
*finally dissolves into floods of tears*
