Welcome PolloDiablo.

help yourself to some pie, cake and a drink of whatever you fancy.

Don't worry about Miss Spelling - she is a common sight around here. As long as we can work out what you mean it will be fine and if we can't someone is sure to ask!

NO! I can't drink alcohol!! Ahhhhhh!

<runs and hides away from the poisonous substance>

<peeps out and squeaks for another fresh cup of mocha, without the alcohol>

Z-B, you must lay off the coffee. You are getting altogether too panicky. If you don't want alcohol, don't have any! Help yourself to some nice Rooibos.

Nemades, I'd like medium, please. How did it go with the nursery kids? They can be very sweet and fun.

<firmly takes alcohol out of Z-B's sight.>

Hi, PolloDiablo! Have some alcohol-free mocha!

I think that reaction may have been slightly over the top, ZB. Perhaps a little less sugar wouldn't go astray either, dear. *pats ZB comfortingly on the head*

Hi PolloDiablo. If my Spanish is correct (I know about 5 words in Spanish, btw, so I'm most likely wrong), you are a ChickenDevil, which is quite interesting...

Yeah, something like that. I don't know much Spanish either, but I got my name from a Monkey Island computergame. It features a giant, man-eating chicken and it is also the name of a very hot/spicy chicken-dish. My husband thought the name suited me. I leave it to your collective imaginations why. :D

Thanks for the welcoming messages. :)

We more likely to worry that you are a spammer, but I don't think that that is a problem.

<is sad as everyone thinks she drinks too much coffee, when it is only my 2nd cup>

<peeps around shamefully>

I had a really bad experience with alcohol 7 months ago which left me scarred for life... hence I can't even go near the substance! Coffee and sugar give me highs... after around 4 cups... so I am halfway there! :)

Have you ever tried Lucozade or Irn Bru? They have been known to give some pretty good highs!!!!!

I think the one thing that will get me super high, (MartinB can probably back me on this one) is PLAY energy drink. One of those and I can stay awake for 48hours straight... it is really odd! Especially if I have had coffee and sugar around the same time... then I will bounce around like a nutcase!

You are zesty?

I hope it is that, and not that you are a giant, man-eating chicken.

Salutations, I am new. I am not going to tell you my name, no offense--that's sort of the point of a screen name, isn't it...? Well, maybe I will tell you. I am Nicholas, from, dare I reveal it, Alaska, United States. Please don't shun me; I don't like being shunned.

I shall try to become acquainted with the sorts of things one talks about here, and the implied standard of (like holycrap man :0 rotfl) writing correctness. I am also semi-painfully aware that if I ever, EVER misspell or mis-punctuate anything at all I will undergo the virtual equivalent of tarring, feathering, public beating, and, ultimately, slow burning at the stak. I do not look forward to this, but I know the day will come, and fairly soon, I should imagine, because I am, on the whole, not very smart and fairly ignorant... Aren't you simply thrilled to have me?

Fforde-related background information: I am a rookie. I have only read The Eyre Affair, The Fourth Bear, and Something Rotten, in that order. Isn't that terrible?

Well, since you suggested burning at the 'stak' (whatever that may be) we will be only too happy to oblige.

Welcome, and glad to see you have got into the swing of things already :P

Welcome!
