I was grating carrots the other day, well, thanks to getting a fright from the Gardener I managed to grate my fingers too! Now have no feeling in the tip of my middle finger and thumb! Have been told it will come back... but it still is wierd and nearly a week since I did the injury! Now I am definately cautious of Graters!

At least unlike DAFW, you could suck your fingers.

If you ever use a mandolin, make sure the gardener has been tied up and locked in the potting shed!

In the "potting shed" that was... he stole all the pots... so now it is a shed, overrun with rats and other non desirables!

I just got back from the surgery, vet surgery, where I worked for a number of years and was just going in to say hi to everyone. Well lo and behold... there was a baby Vervet Monkey in, being looked after until it was able to go to the sanctuary! Was so so so so cute... they named him "Rascal", he is one and my Mum said she wants one... my reply, "Never in a million years". He was super cute though!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I love ickle monkeys, I am so jealous of all of my friends who are working with animals now, I have a friend in Africa working with apes I think and a friend working on a big cat enrichment device and another working with monkeys for her masters I think.

I can't really complain as I had a good first day at the nursery today, the staff were amazing and although the kids were hard work I learned alot! I now have lots to go and work on befor emy next visit!

I worked in a vet surgery for all of 3 years, I went to visit this vac and they asked if I would join the team again. I told them yes, after I have finished working in the game lodges, so that will end up with me working at the surgery in December... yay! Gives me something to do!

I am also enrolling in a research project in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe to get the elephant numbers down, yes... sterilisation! There are 14000 elephants there and the park can only hold 8000 or something. Culling is not an option I hear so they are going for the sterilisation route.

My other job will be working with orphaned animals from the cruel results of poaching. Rehabilitating them and getting them wild and free again! I can't wait!
