It's where the centurion corrects his grammar for the latin of 'Roman's go home' that cracks me up.

"Decline the verb 'to go.' "
"But it's an order so it takes the case..."

Skiffle _
"Chuckle" at Heather's special skills.
The author whose name you tried to remember is "Aaron Allston". He's also written some non-'Star Wars' fiction that's worth reading. I especially recommend "Doc Sidhe" & its sequel "Sidhe Devil"... They're parallel worlds stories that blend fantasy with 'pulp' elements. (He's written some supplements for at least one roleplaying system [the 'Hero' one] as well...)

Our Star Wars party had *few* characters which were based on original templates: 1 wookiee, 1 engineer (which was Heather, who was not at all shy, as template suggested) and 1 bolshie kid
We had (at various times and combinations): a journalist, a Sivaoan (Star Trek originated feliniod), a hitchhiker, a useless noble, a rock musician and a spiv (Harvey san Valentine, mentioned elsewhere).
