<Greedily grabs the first marshmallow, burns fingers. Remembers her manners. Nods thanks to Marit.>

<Tries to lick fingers clean while watching the show CR is putting on. He's awfully animated, I wonder how long he can keep up the entertainment.>

<Looks around for the Old Boiler. frowns. Is sad OB is missing all the fun.>

eye catches 'animated'

does ridiculous thing and sees it as anagram of 'and a time'

would rather have 'time and a half' or 'double time' but as I am not working it is all ephemeral musing.

Thinks about marshmallows but finds they are all gone.

Gone, gone, and never called me mother.

Why should a marshmallow want to call me 'mother'

I am an uncle.

<frowns at CB, to let him know that screeching is not allowed in the TreeHouse, bent tail or not>

<decides show is over>

<sidles away from bunyip, as there is this shimmer of ridiculous musing emanating from bunyip and I'm worried it is contagious>

<gets out the washable chalk and writes "Happy Birthday to geg" on the wall several times in lots of different colors>

<looks for bunting>

<finds socks, hangs them up instead>

< Hands MB entry form for this year's sculpture competition.>
<Also hands him a copy of last weeks Treehouse Times, the one with the smudged picture, supposedly proving that there is life outside the perimeter fence.>

<Wonders if I should get Speckles to come check out this stranger that just appeared in the TreeHouse. Sees geg acting friendly, decides not to get Speckles.>

<sneaks a few more marshmallows while everyone is busy waving at new person>

<realizes new person is not new>

<sighs, and puts on glasses>

<wonders who has been feeding Speckles on the sly, as Speckles is even more around than memory served>

Goes to veterinary nutrition book

looks for 'on the sly' to find out what it is and how many calories it has.

finds only 'sly grog'

decides as large herbivore Speckles could drink gallons of sly grog and grow more rotund.

considers this adequate information.

wonders if Speckles is eating chips with sly grog, or a kebab?

Dear MartinB hello you sound like a nice chap. Pleased to meet you. I have been trying to find a way into the Treehouse with no luck so far.From your initial comments it would appear that you don't think it's worth it. I want to see the fabled chocolate pumpkins so I will continue with my quest.

Sighs. Paces round the perimeter fence. Rustles in the undergrowth. Trips over discarded washing machine parts. Sighs.

Apropos of nothing: I saw at a local library TWO books on treehouses.

There were no mentions of how an elephant gets into a treehouse, except with difficulty.

<hopes that the reason for counting feet is clear>
