Possible Error? - Lost In A Good Book
Posted by: Anonymous User (---.nsw.bigpond.net.au)

Hi all

I am re-reading Lost In A Good Book and I noted an error. Wanting to know if anyone else picked it up and if anyone knows whether it was deliberate.

In Chapter 3, "Cardenio Unbound" - Thursday and Bowden visit Vole Towers where Lord Volscamper asks Thursday which one of her cousins his niece, Gloria is married to. And she replies, "My cousin Orville."

In Chapter 6, "Family", Thursday refers to Gloria as being Wilbur's wife.

Anyone else note that?

I am really pedantic, I know!

Somehow the thought of @#$%& fusion power scares me more than baiting nuclears for energy. (Yes I am pushing it, but nuclear fishin' is OK)

Like Anglo-Indian cooking and jazz-rock, fusion is good.

Fishing is long periods of calm then suddenly all h$%^ breaks loose.

That's some sharp eyes and a good memory you have there, braex27, but you're not the first...if you check out the appropriate upgrade page that MartinB aluded to (before the topic went impressively quickly off at an angle), you'll notice it's already been pointed out to the Fforde.

Pedantry is always welcome here though!

Is there a contest for how fast a topic can go off at an angle? I'm sure this one would be in the running. unless of course you can a topic that strays in the first post.

by the way...I've been convicted of Gramatical Homicide, and charged 18 years to life, so don't bother telling me about all the spelling mistakes. It's already on my record.

I'm pretty sure if that had happened anywhere, it'd be on this fforum...

We call them Snickers, now. I prefer Mars. Or Yorkie.

To paraphrase Solon, Topics are for the guidance of the wise and the blind obedience of fools.
