Hi, is it okay if I tag on the end here? My first post and I'd hate to tread on anyone's toes!

I've been a Fforde fan for a while and I was thinking about going to the Swindon launch but I was wondering if anyone knew what was happening there? A friend told me there was going to be more than just the signing going on and that some special event was taking place but I can't seem to find out anything more about it. Anyone else heard about this?

Hi teaandtoast, welcome. If you have lurked here for any time you will know that I am the bearer of pies. Help yourself. Today the savoury pies are at the front, the sweet are to one side.

If you have not yet done so, look at the "Yours Goodbye" thread by Niebla to see something of what may (or may not) be happening in Swindon on Launch Day. I suppose with the number of copies already delivered, that should be "Official Launch Day".

All I know is that if the good lady wife (mrs. SkidMarks) and I could get to Swindon, we would definitely be there. Unfortunately we can't.

P.S. Do not worry about treading on toes. People here are mainly friendly and usually capable of moving their feet out of the danger zone...........
