The U.K. news is reporting severe storms lashing Eastern Australia.

It's all in NSW... the only side effect us Melbournites are getting is copious quantities of rain.

We haven't had an awful lot of rain in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, but it was only 13deg today.

well, I live in NSW, but pretty much out of the way of the storms, in Sydney. The Hunter Valley area, a little north of here was worst hit.
