Speaking of names, I was trying to convince one of my friends to try The Eyre Affair (he finally did, but sadly, didn't like it) when he was surprised by my referring to the author as "he". He was absolutely convinced that Jasper was a girl's name. I still haven't completely convinced him…

Well, if you squint in the dark and turn away from the picture (Jasper's) you might mistake him for a girl....

Saw Robson Green on Denton last night. I think he could play some part - I just don't know which.

Never seen Helen Baxendale before but at first sight looks ok. Just doesn't look imposing against the two policemen in pic two.

Has she ever done anything with a physical aspect to it, like played for Richmond in the rugby competition, or broken anybody's arm. What's she like with birdlife? And guns? Does she like Battenberg Cake? Does she know what Batteneberg cake is?

The "fictional woman" is supposedly Thursday Next, if you scroll down the page.

Sorry if I strayed off topic and discussed the work of Jasper Fforde in your little playground.

Kelly Brook.

I know that she couldn't play Thursday. I just like writing "Kelly Brook".

Well, perhaps the Thursday Next movie ought to be true to the version of TEA mentioned in FAS, as well as the movie-within-the-book starring Lola Vavoom. In which case perhaps Ms. Brook would be appropriate!

I actually meant Ms Lennox for Haversham... But I suppose this isn't the haversham casting thread so much as the being snarky at Ptols thread...
