Here's wishing a very happy and fun birthday to our own Sarah. Hopefully, Minsky won't steal all of her cake!!

Thank you! :-)

I've had a lovely day, I've decided 39 is a wonderful age to be (but then I always decide that, whatever age I am), and I'm now going to bed. Anyone wishing to read about my stately home visit can take a peek at my journal on www.blurty.com/users/thursday_next.

Goodnight, all you lovely people, sleep well, and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow!

(PS AAC - if anyone steals the cake, it will be Chomsky, not Minsky - he's a terror for that kind of thing!)

ps - you share a b'day with my mother (she's 43 today). Not sure if this is a good thing to mention, lol

EDIT--> I know, I'm young, ok?

Happy Birthday from Michigan, where it will continue to be your birthday for another 7 hours or so.

um, late with the congrats, but I hope you had a nice birthday, Sarah.

I have an excuse. I was in Hull.

Ah, Hull. Change the vowel a bit and you get much the same result.

Au contraire, cherie. I had a very nice time .... the customers in Hull took me to a pub and bought me BEER, and on the train home I mused upon Philip Larkin (as one does).

Hull does have a nice art gallery, I will admit that. However, judging by the number of muggings, burgleries, thuggery and murder reported on the local news as happening there, I think I'll stay in Sheffield. It's much safer here.

Chris Rea sang a song about the road to Hull.

The M62, isn't it?

M25 was the one he sung about, although I'm sure some people feel much the same way about the M62.

Only decent track he ever did (Road to Hell, not Nevermind).

I always used to get confused between him and Chris de Burgh. Don't know why though.

Chris de Burgh actually gets on the 'Most Perverse Album in the World.. Ever !', that I compiled for a friend's 30th birthday.
23 songs about transvestites, bondage, masturbation, exhibitionsim, sado-masochism, necrophilia, electrocution, suicide, insanity, war and nuclear holocausts.
C. de B.'s contribution is 'Patricia the Stripper', a jolly 1920's style song.

"to tremendous applause, she took off her drawers."

Thanks for all the birthday greetings! Wilfred, who did all my drinking for me as usual, says "hic".

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike alcohol (in fact I'm rather partial to the occasional liqueur). It's just that if there's a choice between booze and chocolate, there is only ever one winner. You know my motto - a day without chocolate is null and void!

Bloke goes into his psychologist and says "I'm into necrophilia, bestiality and sado-masochism. Am I flogging a dead horse?"

Tone suitably lowered.

And that relates in exactly what way to chocolate?

No, on second thoughts, don't tell me - I'll probably regret it...
