Can anyone think of any other famous Jaspers...
I can only think of comedian Jasper Carrot and of course Jasper FForde.
Anyone think of others?

When I was young, "jaspers" was a common nick-name for wasps. I never did work out why. Perhaps though it was just a Somersetshire thing.

One of my boyfriend's friends has a lovely dog called Jasper. Sorry, that is all I can think of apart from the fictional character called Jasper in a Wizard of Earthsea

Does "Sir Jasper" count? As in the one from the song: "Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me."

Karl Jaspers (philosopher)

Sid James played 'Jasper Stoneyheart The Landlord' in a Tony Hancock melodrama spoof.
There is a place in NSW called Wee Jasper.

Jasper Tudor was the uncle of Henry VII. OK, not a very recent Jasper, but an early Jasper. Welsh, too.

You can click this for a picture of a man with a dog growing out of his stomach a la "Alien", while having his tackle adjusted at Wee Jasper.

Robert: Was he a contestant? Because if he was eating dogs and beans to enhance his performance, I think he got the wrong end of the stick...

The International Wind-Breaking Association has no rule which prohibits the eating of dogs (and beans have always been quite legal). I'm pretty sure though, that most civilised countries have laws which would restrict the eating of live dogs.
The photo, above, is notable in that it shows the chap's intestines spread all around him, suggesting that this is, in fact, a dog implant - and the IWBA has had specific rules outlawing implants ever since The Norwegian Hammond Organ Imbroglio of 1962.

I don't know if Jasper Pääkkönen (Finnish actor) would be found eating a Jasper tomato in Jasper National Park, but if he ever finds himself in Plymouth, U.K. he could get a bite to eat at Cap'n Jaspers.............
