Hi all, thought i'd introduce myself before plunging in to what seems to be the usual madness surrounding anything "Ffordeian". However not sure what to say other than "Hi"! As you can see, great intellectual wit, not!

Hey there, welcome to the fforum, cake, tea, sweaters pie (sweet and savoury) are available, in some way.

And may I enquire your opinion on chequered waistcoats?

And stripy socks. Dont forget socks, or you'll catch your death.

Always good to have another yellow brick roader on board. Welcome!

Hi there! <waves frantically>

May I respectfully inquire if OC Not might test out the trans-pacific battenburg slingshot by shooting it in the direction of New York first?

Another Aussie? I need to get more Seff Efficans in here.... Even up the odds.

But then, I do make up with quality what is lacking in quantity.

Welcome btw...

*waves a hand before turning back to large cannon that will destroy Canberra or Sydney....*

I agree the down unders are getting the upper hand here. Maybe they just read a better class of book?

My geography teacher had a map of the world with the South pole at the top. Took everyone weeks to notice.

Welcome to hunterri!

I think it has been said: we are a better educated lot down here in Terra Australis, so of course, we would read a better class of book, and even understand most of them.

However, do not let this dismay those from other lands, for we appreciate like minds in other places, even Queensland.

Be happy in the knowledge that by being a fforumite that you have joined an elite intellectual group who appreciate all forms of input into the fforums.

Thanks for the warm welcome (although i'm not so sure about a cannon aimed in my direction, can you wait a few months, i'll have moved from your range of fire by then)

Checkered waistcoats, fine on shop dummies. Wool or polyester?

Striped socks, fine on others. But unbecoming to chickens.

Don't worry, hunterri, it's only my little slingshot. Obtaining a cannon requires security clearances that I will never, ever be able to get.

Don't worry OC Not, a cake fired at my broadside would be a welcome thing, especially when i sit down to tea.

It's MartinB with the cannon!

Hunterri,

Be not worried by cannons.

It's when they bring out the bishops that I begin to feel the danger.

I don't think Bishop's Cake and Battenberg Cake have much in common, other than Margaret Fulton's books.
