I haven't seen Soul Music but I have Weird Sisters on video (before the time of me having DVD!) I really like it but if it is quite expensive (sorry, only thinking in £s) then I think I would probably recomend the live action Hogfather which I have on DVD, it is fab, really true to the book and the author himself has a cameo in it. I would like to hear what the others think but I would probably try to read Hogfather before seeing it. I just love TP, Men at Arms is one of my "I'm feeling blue so I need to return to something comfortable, familiar and warm fuzzy making!" books!
I hope you get into the books, personally I like some of the stories better than others - My favourites are the City Watch and the Witches.
Good Luck
I've seen them both, and yes, it's worth it!
However, I'd check the eVil McAuction site(s) to see if you can get it @#$%& first.
(And if you decide to you dont like it, feel free to post them to me! ^_^ )
I saw an episode of wyrd sisters or two years ago, they never showed the rest. I want to see Hogfather, watched a few seconds on youtube a while back, looked interesting.
Did I tell you kitten, that I turned one tooth into a brooch? a weird one!
Anton! It was made into a TV movie (well two part mini series. Came out in the UK on Sky last December apparently) according to Kitten, Channel 7 from Oz bought it, but has yet to decide to play it the bastards! Damn them!

I just found the Wikipedia post about it, I really want to see Hogfather now! I am reading the book now (I'll have finished it by tonight) and now that i know that the Miniseries/TV movie was made recently I REALLY want to see this!
It's a shame that it has not been released in the U.S yet, but I think my Playstation3 can handle Region 2 (or whatever the U.K is) DVD's, Off I go to find a resonably priced Limited Edition! (well, not immediatly, I might browse around today but I dont think I'll be buying it today.)
Time to threaten Channel 7 if they don't show Hogfather in one piece, without murdering it with adverts, at a suitable time. I think 2am onwards would be good so I can set the recorder and let it copy, then edit out the adverts.
[How many times do I need to know that there are creatures waiting to talk to me who look nothing like the bimbos sticking their minimalist backsides and pathetic breasts out to try and be erotic. The most erotic woman I ever knew never wore a short mini skirt or hung her boobs out to get sunburned. She maintained a physical propriety but had the most wonderful personality. She could cause a traffic accident by smiling. She was also a nurse - but no tawdry eroticism there.
Those ads are bizarre, I can't understand how any guys can like that stuff (they must be very sad). What annoys me is that they start quite early in the evening.
When I worked in the newspapers in London town I knew some of the page 3 girls socially. On average they are about 5' tall, their figures were emphasised by the physical stature (or lack of it) and they came from all walks of life with educational levels from uni grads downwards.
By comparison the individuals shown on those flirt, etc, ads have the appeal of maggots, as do those sorts who appear in adverts in which they have nothing to do with the product. I am a Goon show/Monty Python/Teerry Pratchett/ Robert Rankin/Jasper Fforde/ Goodies fan and I cannot make any connection between the bodies and the products being sold.
I especially detest those which try to be 'alluring' but they blot the nipples/boobs etc out. These are Septic film stock and are a joke. If we want porn on tv we can watch SBS.
But if anybody meets Wendy Sutton, now aged about 48 - 50, look at her eyes. They were the most attractive almond coloured and shaped eyes I have ever seen. Puts the GC Samoyeds to shame.
YEYAY! I do not get the greenguide though, would it be too much to ask for a notification? Have organise a video to record on and a TV that actually shows pictures without making people look like great hairy people from Alpha Centauri.
The animations were... good. I wouldn't say great, but pretty good - definately worthwhile watching, but I don't think I'd pay $75. And I'm sure they are available @#$%& (mine were £5 each ;) )
They were made by the same people who did Dangermouse, Duckula and a stop-motion Truckers.
Incidently, the people who did Hogfather are also doing a melange of TCoM and TLF for their next project (out next easter, IIRC.) David Jason (Albert in Hf; Del Boy on Only Fools and Horses) is going to be playing Rincewind. I think the guy who played Sam in the Lord of the Rings is going to be Twoflower. Interesting casting on both counts...
And if you're looking for more televised Pratchett, Johnny and the Dead and Johnny and the bomb have both been seen on UK TV and are probably available somewhere.

That statement is either so deep it would take a lifetime to fully comprehend every particle of its meaning, or it is a load of absolute tosh. Which is it, I wonder?
Terry Pratchett, Hogfather
I didn't know that! Interesting how such drivel gets put on TV here in OZ, but never anything interesting the Pratchett stuff!
P.s. Kitten, I might drop in next week- any good day at school? I have something to tell you...
