It's a new game (though not that one - and oh yes, you've lost!); test your vocabulary here: Free Rice.

It's quite fun and for a good cause.

Fortunately it's not as addictive as it could be as some of the definitions are a bit dodgy and they start repeating the words after a while. You can't score more than 50, but that gives a reasonable amount of rice. Enjoy it!

Hmmm…I like the idea very much and I'd love to play…but when I clicked on the correct definition it didn't do anything!

I played for a bit. Not so sure about some the words. As in whether they are real.
Can not get through lvl 42. Still not bad though.

It may be a waste of time, but is the rice thing for real? And aren't they being a bit scungy if it's only ten grains?

yes, the rice is real. Each time you get a word right they donate ten grains of rice to wherever. The concept is that is you play for long enough, you donate tons of rice to third world contries. I believe that I've gotten somewhere near 7,000 grains of rice before. Measley, I know but I was bored and had nothing better to do.

I remember when I was at uni there was a company/charity that used to send me a daily email with some sort of advert in - I just had to click on the add each day and they'd send a cup of rice (or possibly a few grains) to someone who needed it.

When I was a student I had time to click on an email once a day... nowadays... I seem to have stopped getting the emails.

That statement is either so deep it would take a lifetime to fully comprehend every particle of its meaning, or it is a load of absolute tosh. Which is it, I wonder?

I tried it. How do you move on to the next word.

I played a zillion games of solitaire while waiting and ate all the chocolate with noticing.

If some third world country would establish a website to donate chocolate to those trying to donate rice it would be an adequate recompense.
