Happy Thanksgiving!

This might be a little late for you guys in the U.K but I just had to carry a 20lb turkey in one hand and a gallon of milk, and to top it off, three cartons of eggs, all in one go. I thought this might be an appropriate moment to wish all the Nextians out there a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoy your Turducken/ham/spamspamspamspamwonderfulspam!*/vegan/ or just plain turkey for you traditionalists(is that a word?) Dinner be delicious!

*sorry, watching to much Python will do that to you....

Thank you Anton, but quite early for us Brits: traditionally we have turkey on Dec 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th etc. until the turkey curry in mid January finally gets rid of the last of it!

I am on a turkey high right now. Happy Thanksgiving, Anton!

I didn't have to carry the 26 pounder anywhere this year because luckily (or not) the parents live next door but I did have to cart around quite a lot of potatoes...

Just about to go have some pie. Cheers, fforum and thanks for being here.

Turkey? Oh yes. Large tasteless bird from the colonies.

There are plenty of turkeys meeting an untimely end in the UK right now, but it has nothing to do with Thanksgiving. An outbreak of bird flu or a cynical attempt to inflate turkey prices before Christmas?

Happy Thanksgiving to all in the US -- enjoy your healthy turkey!

Lacking in taste maybe but I would not be so bold as to suggest large without actually laying eyes on you my dear....

I hope all Thanksgiving devotees enjoyed their turkeys.

In Oz last night we saw a load of turkeys ejected from government but the cane toad became only the second Prime Minister (in OZ) to lose his seat in a general election.

That's how I hope he goes down in the history books.

As an aside, my daughter worked for supermarket chain and one of their brands changed so all the stock with the old labelling had to go. She phoned me to come and get her as she had one 'turkey' the size of an emu and a second the size of a bustard. Her mother is the only turkey lover in the immediate family, so I guess the cats and dogs are going to be heartily sick of turkey before the carcases are finished. We have only half our freezer space available now.

woooohay! Got stiff fingers from giving out green cards.

Going doooown in history! I feel a bit lighter, scarily can't even remember a different PM! Way too long. Anyway, I'm not going to talk politics..

Good because I sure don't want to (talk politics, I mean. Cali primary is still a couple months away even with all the 'move-ups' that are going on).

All the turkey is gone except for one bit for grandma's last sandwich tomorrow luncheon...Oh, and several pies still remain. We always seem to either pass out, go home, or reiterate several times 'I don't want sweet things, I'm drinking beer!' and so we have to eat lots of dessert over the rest of the weekend. (Wah!)

Our Coles supermarket sells Turkey "chops" (which I think might be thighs, sliced through the bone). Anyway, they're delicious with Cranberry sauce and crisp-up nicely on the BBQ.

Mrs CannibalRabbit is definitely has turkey chops as a firm favourite, and they are quick and easy to cook. Just wonderful for that little bit of Xmas in the middle of the year.

OCN

'We always seem to either pass out, go home, or reiterate several times'.

In Oz I read that and thought what a new word for a technicolour yawn. After some of the meals and vino I have consumed in my days I think that 'reiterating' is a wonderful word for talking to god on the porcelain telephone.

May all your neologisms be successful!!!!!!!!!!!

Tee hee! I had to re-read it to get that. Several times. Reiterating. Double, bubble, toil and trouble. I think I need to take a writing class.

From the wiki definition of neologism: "It is considered normal in children, but a symptom of thought disorder (indicative of a psychotic mental illness, such as schizophrenia) in adults."

Good thing I never grow up.

Something tells me that was a vandalised entry....

Which is good.
