Did anyone else see The Boat Race yesterday?

Blimey. That's all I can say.

We nearly had 'em...

how they can't call it a dead heat when the last dead heat was within 6 feet of each other, I do not know.

If Cambridge had got another pull in, they'd have done it. They must be so gutted thinking 'If we had just pulled that tiny bit harder/sooner....'

fantastic stuff. Am a Cambridge supporter by default, as most of my friends who express a preference are.

And most of Kate's are Oxford supporters, which would make it more fun if she could be bothered!

Eddie and I enjoyed the race. I was cheering on Cambridge, he was pointing at the screen shouting 'boat, boat'

Observant child, that. You must be so proud

Indeed. I think 'Come on Cambridge, get your arses in gear' might have been a bit advanced for him.

That's what he meant. No godson of mine is going to have anything to
do with the 'Dark Blues'...

Not sure that 'get your arses in gear' is appropriate language for a small child. What have you been teaching him ?

lots of bad habits.

I almost let fly a completely unprintable expletive last weekend whilst laying the kitchen floor. I hammered my finger and leapt to my feet, realised that not only was eddie the room, his grandma (my mam) was there too. I managed to restrain myself with a 'blast!'

It could have been sooo much more colourful.

Do what my parents did with our Adam. Tell him that 'blackpool' is an incredibly naughty word, and he is never to say it.

To this day he thinks the man who reads the football results needs to wash his mouth out.

"Ch***ea" is a really naughty word. (Spot the QPR supporter here...) However, "F**ham" is possibly even worse.

Strangely, Sarah has brought us back on topic, with Fulham reach being the start of the race. I thought it was one of the classics. The dead heat was given as a 'dead heat by six feet' after the umpire was found drunk in a ditch.
