I am currently running a mixture of "invisible tears' by the Ray Conniff Singers and Sinatra singing '...and if you should survive to a hundred and five....' after having got rid of twenty years of hearing 'When Somebody Loves You' from 'the Joker Is Wild"

Paul Anka - Wonderwall.
Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias doing a cabaret version of Anarchy in the U.K. (At least they set out to parody the song, but I believe that Paul Anka was serious.)

an aside: many lifetimes ago - pre 1965 - Radio China* played Paul Anka's 'Eso Beso' continuously for days. It became of such interest that we would go out and tune it in just to hear if it was still playing.

They won - we stopped trying after along time and as far as i know it's still playing.

*iyt was on a frequency listed as assigned to Radio China and probaly was Mao's way of communicating the 'Great Leap Backwards' to his gang of thugs.

On a recent episode of "The Big Bang Theory" there was dancing to "The Chicken Dance."

Clap Clap Clap Clap.

I have found a cure for earworms.

It is the old game of Russian Roulette.

It works about one time in six, although with the modern trend to semi automatic weapons even that is coming down.

Still it's less effective than being at school in the USA.

Another good cure is 'Pretend we're all in a golden age murder mystery novel'. The butler gets it in the end.

Is 'the butler gets it in the end' a euphamism for some arcane practice that is not discussed in daylight hours?

But we all know it is the least suspectable person who dun it.

Damn you Bunners...now I've got an attack of bloody earworms (the most damaging sort).

It goes like this " Dun der dun der" the annoying musical phrase in thrilling bits of thrillers.

Oh bugger, there it goes again.

For the first time in weeks I have no song running through my mind.

But, it is possible that I don't have a mind for anything to run through.

May explain the boinging echoes they got when burning a few skin cancers off last week.

All is well in this bit of the upside down world.

The sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the little birds are hanging on for dear life as we live halfway up a hill slope and always have a gully breeze moving the air.

Besides that the breeze blows the flies away and its too cold for the mosquitos, snakes, lizards and malevolent wombats to be abroad, and too damp for a bushfire. Being half way up a hill slope also greatly reduces the risk of shark attack, although the little white back spiders are still around in protected corners.

It may be the same in other parts of the land down under.

At work I've been looking at some expenses and one of the suppliers is Hansen, so I've had Mm Bop running through my head at odd points through the day.

Spike Jones's version of ' MacNamara's Band' has emerged from the silence to become a dominant noise in my head.
