I'm a little worried that Robert's illnesses are accompanied by time travelling sprouts from the planet Phnaag... Maybe it's time to visit the quack?

My uncle was afflicted by those.
He'd hold a thumb over one nostril and go "Phnaag"! to one side, jerking his head violently at the same time.
I learned from an early age to scramble away whenever he lifted his hand anywhere near his face and still involuntarily jump sideways or backwards whenever anyone scratches their nose.

When your a chip
you're a chip all the way
from your first living spud
til your last frying day.

It's showing my age a bit, but the only song with 'Ruby, Ruby, Ruby' in it was by Dion, circa 1959.

Song was titled: Ruby (will you be mine?)

Back in the days when you could hear the words.

Does the chorus go: Ruby ruby ruby! do ya do ya do ya do it to me! or something to that effect. Was played a lot on Triple J last year, when I was actually able to listen to a radio.

BwH

The song I remembered is actually named 'Ruby Baby', by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller. Lyrics thus:

I got a girl and ruby is her name
She don't love me, but I love her just the same
Ruby baby how I want you
Like a ghost I'm gonna haunt you
Ruby baby when will you be mine

Each time I see you baby my heart cries
I'm gonna steal you away from all those guys
From the sunny day I met you
Made a bet that I would get you
Ruby baby when will you be mine

I got a girl and ruby is her name
Id give the world just to set her heart aflame
Got some lovin money too
Gonna give it all to you
Ruby baby when will you be mine

Sung by the Drifters originally In 1956, then made a hit by Dion (di Mucci) in 1963.

Obviously not what you heard.
