Just a very quick post to say that the dodo I ordered at the end of December has _finally_ arrived! She is very soft and cuddly but she also looks quite regal, so I have naturally called her Dido, for what finer name could she have?
Wilfred is smitten already. It's love at first sight, folks. Watch this space!
A bit harsh. She always seems alright to me. Having said that, I've no idea of the M&M reference, presumably some advert or something. There's a whole world of popular culture which passes me by...
She may seem alright to you, but my sister has the entire bloody album. No Angel? No let up, more like...
There's only so manny times you can listen to Dickie Dido (that joke copyright of one T. Wogan) at eight o'clock in the morning before you come to dislike her intensely.

This is the work of an Italian narco-anarchic collective. Don't bother insulting them, they can't read English anyway.

Rob,
Eminem sampled Dido on one of his songs and it actually launched her career here in the States. I actually like her. I do own the album, however, I only listen to it in small doses. It does get a little sugary after a while.
Good grief... and there was I thinking "Dido" had no other noteworthy antecedent than the queen of Carthage!
For anyone who's interested, my dodo shows no sign of being able to sing. Mind you, since that goes for a large number of pop artists these days, that probably isn't sufficient to distinguish her from the Dido you've just been talking about.
I'm with Jon on this one. She's very fanciable and seems very nice from articles I've read about her. From what I've heard of her music (on the radio) is seems good. Never had it repeatedly forced down my throat though.
AAC: I'm pretty sure it was Eminem sampling Dido that made her name over here too (although I'm sure one of the youngsters will correct me !).
'Roswell High' is indeed on the telly, although whether it amounts to entertainment may be a matter of debate. It's based on the premise that some of the teenagers at Roswell High School are really aliens. Of course they are good-looking, in a bland sort of way. Just like every other American TV and film teenager. Is there a factory somewhere, that produces them from moulds ?

Oh that's right, I forgot about Roswell...it was just Roswell here, not Roswell High, named, of course, after that famous New Mexico town where the supposed alien autopsy and all the famous UFO stuff/government coverup occurred. The show starred Colin Hanks, eldest son of Tom Hanks, aka Forrest Gump.
