Hi guys i haven't been here in ages i'm glad to see so many old faces and new ones This is a pun game i've been making up at work ( i do a lot of not working it appears) it came from the name of a book i saw of real life names of people that were puns themselves; the book called Bertha Vernation I thought it was a hoot so i started making up my own I'll give some examples here see how many you guys can make.
The only rule is that we should be able to make sense of the pun intended and that it could be a possible name of someone, but if it makes a laugh or at least a giggle it should pass muster Below is some of the better ones i have heard and i made up.

You could for extra credit give them an occupation that suits the name

My List

Con D Mints
Jay Walker
June Whether
Wanda Over
Art Grant
Miles Togo
Jack Schitt
Hugh Coward
Noah Sark
Stan Dupp
Peter File
Ben Dover
Karin Maintenance
Kit Holmes
Joe Kerr

and the ever popular
Robin Banks and
Sue Ridge

See how hugo with it

I have tons more

Glad to be back

This sounds like the "staff" at the Car Talk radio show. If one were to visit www.cartalk.com, one might search about for the list of staff members. It is quite a long list. I attempted to add a few of my own just last week. Such as...

Rhonda Conner and Donna Street

Carrie Anne Regardless

Tess Tosterone

I don't know if they were accepted. I'll have to check.

This parallels the book /song titles with the appropriate names, such as:

Naughty Schoolboy by Ben Dover
Broken Window by Eva Brick
Murder in the Cow Shed by Ooo Flung Dung
Cat's Revenge by Claude Balls
Baby's Revenge by Nora Titov
The Russian Runner by Ivan Pisanov

I got a list of them somewhere, so look out for if I find them you could be reading for some time.

All this reminds me of a real-life example of funny names: two mathematicians, Steven Zucker and David Cox, wrote a paper together in which they proved the Cox-Zucker Theorem.

Went to a party with a 'medical' theme this past weekend. At the door everyone had to pick a name from a list, and it was your name for the night (until your little sticker name tag fell off and got trampled on the dance floor).

I picked Jean Poole.

Ooh I like Onya Own. I might adopt that for the Renaissance Faire next week.

Edited to add - Yes, I go to Renaissance Faires. In costume, what's more. Go ahead and chuckle...

OC,

Be proud.

If you have such a faire in 16 days I would say 'May the fourth be with you'.

Remember, according to the old song: it ain't what you do it's the way that you do it.

Unfortunately for you lot I found this.

Canonical List of Punny Book Titles

Compiled By: Harold Reynolds (harold@atm.dal.ca)
Web Page Maintained By: Derek Cashman (cashman@infi.net) Below
are listed a large number of book title puns, sorted according to
author's last name. Please send suggestions to the above
address. Those given to me may be altered to some degree to,
IMHO, "improve" them, but all submissions will be duly credited.
Please try to keep them relatively "clean"--"Mystery in the
Barnyard" by Hu Flung Dung is about as far as I'm willing to go.
This list will be posted at irregular intervals, approximately
monthly, depending on the number of new submissions I get.

Feel free to inflict the list on your friends, but like others, I
like to be credited for the work I did to assemble this list.

Many thanks to John Gregory, who provided more than half of the
entries from his collection of related puns.
