Rest peacefully, Humphrey Richard Adeane Lyttelton, and rest assured that you won't be forgotten. Of course, the stories go on, as does the laughter and joy that you've brought to millions, as I'm you would like it to.

There needs to be a plaque near Mornington Crescent somewhere, I think.

Apparently, Samantha is trying to arrange the details of Humph's funeral so she asked the vicar to get his head down and give her the full service.

(and before anyone accuses me of being insensitive, this is one of Humphrey's own quips: I can almost hear him saying it now, bless him)

Sad news the death of Humph.

However be glad that his legacy is on file and may be replayed.

In Oz we should perhaps petition the ABC to follow Jazz Tracks on Sunday with a rerun of the entire ISIHC canan starting from 1972. Any supporters?

As was usual for the Beeb in those days, they wiped the tape containing the pilot show. Quite a few of the first series also went, I believe.

Maybe all is not lost:
found this on the "BBC - ISIHAC" page:

"

Is it on tape?
Funny you should ask. There are various cassette compilations in the BBC Radio Collection, including a new box set. It was thought that the original programme was lost but recently a copy turned up. Plans are in place to broadcast it again on digital radio.

"

"things, that should not have been forgotten, were 'found'"?

Sorry, I can't seem to get away from the quoting this evening...

"It's possible, however unlikely, that they might find a weakness. And exploit it."

As long as they don't interfere with Samantha as she dresses and disrupt the finer points of the proceedings.
