lock up your knickers !

Had a lovely time staying with Jon and Claire over night of McCartney gig. Thanx *so* much guys; I was treated like a queen. There was just one minor hiccup...
After showering the next morning, I started to pack my rucksack. I picked up the small plastic bag that had yesterday's knickers in...except they weren't there ! What ?
Frantic searching all around bedroom. Checked rucksack a couple of times, looked in bed, looked under bed. Knickers have completely and inexplicably vanished.

Go downstairs and confide that I have lost knickers. (Sooo glad Jon had gone to work)
Claire looks horrified . "Oh gosh, I thought they were mine !"

Claire elaborates to effect that her small white dog has a compulsion to steal knickers. The dog had got upstairs and had my knickers when Claire found her. Not knowing dog had been in my bedroom, Claire assumed the knickers were hers. Knickers duly returned amid much laughter.

And I thought the cats were bad !

oh, geez, that's one thing I'm glad my cats don't do! One does, however, steal socks and carts them around the house. The underwear stays on the floor or in the hamper, thankfully!

One of my best friend's cats loves her male owner's sweaty t-shirts. She'll roll and roll and roll in it and when she's done, she smells just like him. GROSS! LOL

PS, Skiffle, sounds like you guys all had fun!

Mmm, yes, I heard about that. Mia may be a small white dog to the outward eye, but she is in fact a very evil spirit in canine form ..... you were very lucky they were recovered before being chewed to bits. (Her official kennel name is Angelina ..... ha!). I severely chastised her when I got home. Oh. all right then I didn't, I just tickled her tummy a lot.

Anyway, you were very welcome, Skiffle, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay.

PS - AAC - yep, we had fun! [wanders off singing McCartney tunes]

Some men do produce a scent that's attractive to female cats. My friend, Chris, often has that effect. Mine have been known to burrow into his armpits and take a good, long sniff. A cat belonging to an ex-girlfriend used to get positively ecstatic in his dirty t-shirts. Chris just wishes he could attract a different sort of pussy..

A customer advised me that she needed a new bra because the dog had eaten it. Unfortunately she is a 38H and the bra was £34.

Cats eat strange things, but mostly organic. The main exception I've found is lametta, those long thin metallic strips you can buy as Xmas decorations. Cats seem rather fond of that for some reason. I saw Shiraz shlucking up a strand in the same way you do with spaghetti. Luckily didn't do him any harm but it gave me a nasty turn.

My dog got hold of a box of chocalates with alcoholic fillings one Christams. She ate the entire box, and we came home to a very happy dog who fell over everytime she tried to wag her tail. The next day we discovered why there was no foil left, as she leta trail of what my sister delightfully termed 'Christmas poo'. Apparently it glistened in the torchlight....

lucky the chocolate itself didn't kill your dog!! Chocolate has caffeine in it and combined with some of the other compounds in it, it raises their heart rates and blood pressure significantly and they can die of a heart attack or stroke. It's too bad, really, because we enjoy chocolate so much that we want our bestest little furry friends to be able to share our pleasure of eating it, but it's not good for them!

Chomsky hasn't managed to get hold of any chocolate yet (thankfully), but he has eaten just about everything else. I am convinced he is the son of Garfield. :-S

Been talking to the people who are catsitting for me. Iain has one of those red laser pointers and Diesel has been going beserk trying to catch the little red dot. He says the best thing is to use it in the bath (empty) and watch Diesel scrabbling around after it. He always finishes by moving the spot of light to the plughole and switching off. Diesel is now convinced that the dot lives in the plughole...
She is so keen that she races into the bathroom, the minute anyone goes near. I'm told she can even distinguish between the sound of the bathroom light switch, and the landing light switch, right next to it !
Methinks, I should get a laser pointer.....

AAC - i heard about the chocalate thing, but my dog weighs four and a half stone, and has eaten so much chocalate I'm sure we would have seen something by now - we can't stop her stealing it! It'd need afairly large bar for such a large dog, I hope.

You really notice the weight when she hits you at thirty miles an hour....

We used to have a chihuahua (Look, it wasn't my idea, OK?) who was also fond of chocolate. On one occasion when we were visiting some relatives he ferreted around under their piano and found an entire Bourbon biscuit _ which was about as long as his head _ there. He then spent the rest of the afternoon gradually devouring it, and resisting any attempts to take it away "for his own good".

Can we change the name of this thread? I keep reading it as 'look up your knickers'...

Presumably they'd say it in French.

Eep. I am imagining talking knickers now. I've been working too hard!

"Bonjour, mon petit couchon, donnez-moi ton love-sausage superieur, tu sexy-bete, tu."

Not sure if that's authentic, but you get the idea...

I'm not even going to consider letting my dad's universal translation software loose on this lot.

Universal translator units generally aren't programmed to cope with Franglais
