It's just strick me that here we are, all gathered around for Nextian Discussion and we've got Battenburg. But Thursday's in Swindon, and we have forgotten the Weesex/Wiltshire Lardy Cake (Wikipedia). Yes you guessed it lard is a key ingredient, so it hardly the healthy option, but enjoy in moderation!

Battenburg as prizes and auction items!
Tne sweet pies are to the left today. You can tell them from the savoury because they have a different sized "S" in pastry on the top.
