Does it make me old if I complain about the rubbish they have as "kid's shows" these days?

Yes Martin, because modern kids shows (on ABC kids anyway) are AWESOME!
Mainly because people like us lot grew up and started making the kids shows...

I don't know, it depends on the show- I always found Daria to be depressing, though I may have misunderstood it. Says she, who has not watched an actual television show for goodness knows how many months..

I find it difficult to know which are 'kids' shows'.

When I was young ladies did not develop any noticeable bosom line until they were well into their teens. Nowadays they seem to be born with a 32B measurement.

Anyway those programs put on early in the day and on weekends before sports and/or videohits are usually well thought out, have good story development and logical actions and reasonably good acting. Not like the stuff in the evenings for supposedly adult viewers. And are informative.

But most of the young females have bigger busts than Marilyn Monroe.

I was born 40 years too early, but that will apply to any era.

This is all ties into the 'kids not having time to just be kids any more' argument. It's a price of all the connectedness we have now that we just compare ourselves to everyone else all the time instead of working out who we are. Peer pressure has been amplified beyond all measure t'Internet, mobiles, blackberries, and a host of other things that probably exist beyond the limits of my knowledge.

Yikes, a serious post! Could someone beat me with an inflatable strawberry quickly, please?

Actually, I think this era is the most interesting to be a kid in.

Yes! More custard would be great!

Interesting? Yes. Healthy? Debatable.

Remember the old Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times."

As long as there's rhubarb, interesting times don't scare me!

Can you point out on a map where 'Interesting Times ' is?

My father always called his farming properties 'Elsewhere' as the weather reports always concluded 'Fine elsewhere'.

When I finally get my place in the country I think calling it 'Interesting Times' could have a few humourous side effects. (Note non US spelling, maybe not even correct spelling>)

Having lived for a while in the NE of England, I often wondered why so many bands recorded their albums in Consett.

Looks like we're on the verge of a double chocolate meltdown-
I'll go put on a fresh pot of cocoa...

What? Those are my thoughts!

I am happy to have reached the age I am, but I would like to be in the physical condition I was in 1992, after the spinal rebuild and before everything else started malfunctioning.

Emotionally and intellectually I think (boldly) that the best is still to come!

I like to tell people I'm 40. Then they tell me how young I look :)
