Turning carrots into parrots in the kitchen--somebody should lend these people a few boxes of dictionaries!

Very nice.

Our local chinese restaurant often does long tailed bird as a slice of carrot, but that beats it by a mile>

That is pretty cool.

Someone with too much time with a knife and carrots.

Oh I don't know! We used to play with our food prior to eating it, carrots make great edible whistles.

That sounds like too much effort....

It would be fun to try and make a slide whistle--maybe if you were really careful about getting the core part out, you could do it.

Remember, if you go so far as to plant carrots, they must then be thinned out.

You can make a slide whistle, if you like Muse! On condition you make a recording of the sound for us. Better yet a short video for youtube.

By now, shouldn't we be making converstation about the qualities needed in the carrot? And which strain for maxiumum note-range etc?

Obviously, to be really impressive, you'll need a big carrot, maybe 25-30 cms long, and it's gonna need to be fairly thick...

Omigod, I just found this

I think that there are some things man* was not meant to know.

*speciestly speaking - it includes females, alternate lifestylers and those who are not or cannot be decided.

And why Esperance for Sod's sake? It can be cold windy rainy or hot windy dry and flyblown, but it is a beautiful place to go to.

Tourism note: If driving to Perth turn left at Norseman and go down to Esperance and then across to Albany. It is far more interesting than turning north to Coolgardie and then down through Southern Cross to Perth. And in bushfire season it is a bit safer. cf the three semis burned to cinders this summer between Southern Cross and Coolgardie.
