I actually suggested the pencil trick somewhat ironically - it's shocking, and attention-grabbing, but despite my somewhat black sense of humour, I didn't find it that funny.

You're right about the Morgan Freeman scene, although I'm not such a ginormous fan of his as some of the rest of the world seems to be (see today's xkcd, for example), so him stating something fairly obvious didn't strike me as very funny - I certainly prefered the dialogue when Alfred's talking about going to jail...

Anyway, the thread is getting more serious than I intended. Someone do something funny!

...and not with pencils...

Bah! Lambo is a baby sheep- you're thinking of BulLocky

Ummm. I don't follow. Perhaps it's connected to Dirty Lambie?

No, BK, Ovine, not BOvine!

Anyway I thought Lambo was the big guy fighting for the Burmese/VC/whoever the bad guys were in the other movies

There's one excellent - and very funny - homage to the old Adam West series in, I believe, the 'Batman and Robin' movie (though it might have been another one with Robin in it) It's where the two heroes are swimming underwater (obviously, with some kind of Scuba Batgear) to the Riddler's cave. Robin points to a sunken vessel and exclaims, 'Holy rusting metal, Batman!' The look on BM's face as Robin splutters, 'Er, yeah, it's rusting. And it's got lots of holes in it -' is priceless!
Silly, but my kind of humour.

I think you are correct and that it is Batman and Robin, but nothing will make me go back and find out! Much as I love the two Tim Burton films, and both of the recent ones, I do miss the BAT-Anti-Shark-Repellent (and wouldn't that attract sharks?) from the Adam West movie

I liked it when everything started with bat. Those were funny.

So, should I bring my own pencils when I go and see the film then?

That was NOT a Tim Burton movie, I would hasten to add. That shocka was down to Joel Schumacher- just in case anyone got the idea that Mr Burton would make something that bad.

Other than Planet of the Apes, I mean.

Yes, sorry for any confusion: I was grouping the two Tim Burton movies with the two Chris Nolan ones.

Hands off my flux capacitor! I just managed to get it to change colour in the exact sequence to encourage post-hypnotic suggestion!

Is it my imagination or have there been more movies worth a look this year than usual?

Lots this year - and Hellboy still to come!

Admittedly, mrs. SkidMarks and I have catholic tastes in movies and enjoy a good bad film as well and as much as a good film.

In the last 2 weeks we have seen (and enjoyed to a greater or lesser extent)
Hancock
Wall-E
The Forbidden Kingdom
X-Files 2
Batman 2
The Mummy 3

Jeepers. As it's a slow Fforum day I'll ask you what you thought of them all! I thought Batman lacked heart, but WALL-E was great but maybe not enduring. Overall I've seen (in no particular order)

Iron Man
Incredible Hulk
WALL-E
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Kung Fu Panda
The Dark Knight

I almost went to see X-Files 2 but thought better of it.

Egon.
