There was a suggestion of a Deep Fried Battenburg a while ago, I found it lurking in a thread a few minutes ago. I would avoid that, if I were you! How about some lardy cake?

The lardy cake sounds more terrible to me than a deep fried Battenberg. Maybe a bun? With some shred?

I am afraid that I cannot wholly approve of The Fourth Bear as I have a penchant for blonde females who answer to the name of Christine (or even Christeen, for that matter) and if I recall rightly the blonde in the Fourth Bear who gets killed is named Christine.

The pies were meant to compliment the Battenburg, not replace it!
You lot just got lazy when there was such a good supply of pies, sweet and savoury and well marked.

We don't need a intrafforum war:

Quick, someone invent a Battenburg Pie Cake.

or alternatively, and probably more meaningfully, a Battenburg Cake Pie.

Or just blend them all together, add most of a bottle of your favourite appropriate liquer, and then blend in a block of your favourite chocolate.

Survivors, please report on what the total experience was like.

Yumm. Corned beef hash with custard. Sounds good to me...

Except for the marzipan, it wasn't too bad...

...but it's ok if you add enough tomato sauce.
