In terms of story, definitely. But Spike with a soul and the banter with Angel about it (last episode of Season 7/Angel Season 5) was quite enjoyable.

I agree, 85. The problem is that you can only save the world from bigger and bigger baddies for so long before you run out of them.

Yes, and that's a problem they're building for themselves in Doctor Who too.

With Dr. Who there's a year off, more or less, and a new chief coming in next year, so maybe there'll be a change of direction, take it off world, hopefully?

Actually, I've thought the aliens that have been on so far have been pretty Buffy/Angel-ish too... Even in appearance.

(I'm looking at you, Tennant/Tate xmas special...)

You think the Rachnos where bad, you don't even want to go near Bonekickers.

That is bad, very car crash TV that one.

Yes, while mrs. SkidMarks is still sticking with "Bonekickers", the Boudicea episode pretty much finished it for me. Will it all be Excalibur, do you think?

I feel ambivalent about the Dr. Who baddies. When they use those from the original series they are fine, but over-used. (Please, Mr. Moffat, give the Daleks and the Cybermen a rest.) Few of the new ones have amounted to much. (The Weeping Angels and clockwork androids being notable exceptions.)

I think it's more the design of the baddies that throws me.
For some reason, the aliens in the old one seemed less "Been there, done that". I swear, it's because the monsters all looked like they had come off the set of buffy (in the prev series anyway)
Although the clone tank in the Sontaran one (which we had tonight) was pretty damn good. So were the weeping angels

You made it past the first episode, Skids? I bailed out twenty minutes into the first, sickened at how seriously it was taking itself. Maybe if it had been self-mocking there would have been a chance...

As for the Doctor, he really needs a new singular arch-nemesis to have a hopefully complicated time duel with. Someone who recurs over a few years but isn't the Master.

Jeepers, I thought the Doctor Who threads had been laid to rest!

Oh god I hope not, but considering the dire writing so far, I think you could be right, there.

I'M SO EXCITED THAT THERE'S A THREAD ABOUT THIS!!!

I got back to school, and my roommate showed me Dr. Horrible, and I immediately came over to the fforum to make sure that it had been shown to everyone. Yeah, I know, I'm behind on the internet thing.

ANYWAYS. I really liked it. Even the ending. Because I like my baddies angsty, and this gave the guy a big extra dollop of angst. No, seriously, baddies are my favorite part of books/movies/plays, and I was over the moon about a supervillain musical.

Right, it's Bonekickers tonight (here in the UK). Who's going to brave the hamminess? Who will win the Outlast? Who's completely insane?

Mmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I'll be watching it with my girlfriend and her kids. Who to be honest could write a better script than the people that have been paid to.

How much do the writers get paid? I'll give it a shot!

I thought that the point was that they were not getting enough....

It depends. Was Kitten talking about writing Bonekickers over here in the UK? If so, the strike has nothing to with it.

What Dr Who needs is some form of mind independent Universe deciding it has had enough of time travellers and deciding to put some scar tissue in the way to block Dr Who and friends/enemies/indifferents from reaching certain eras. then hatch a good disaster in the exclusion zone. Or has this been done somewhere in the last 40 years?
