Isn't that the name of one of Acheron's friends in The Eyre Affair? Felix Tabularasa was the friend of Acherons who died and they took his face off to use on other people.

"Tabula rasa" is the Latin for a 'blank slate', something that's available to be written on/filled in as its controller desires, which is appropriate in both of those Nextian cirtcumstances...
