Hardback - but that was because neither WHS nor the independent bookshop had it in and I could only purchase at Ottakars after the staff had scrabbled looking for it!

I ordered both UK copies. I do hope they manage to come out with a trade paperback so I can complete my collection...and the fact I use my UK paperbacks as my hack around copies. I use them for reference.
**note: in rereading my post, I realized I am a big goober!**

Brand new here. Got Something Rotten yesterday after being introduced to the series by Carla a while back.
I got the hardback copy with the jacket with hamlet in the speedster on the front. I was torn over getting it because I'm not a fan of hardbacks and I also really wanted the other style cover to match the others but in the end a book token and a desire to find out what happened won me over.
I got both hardbacks, the large one to match the earlier books (especially if I ever get a shelf set up to put them on...) and the smaller one because I really preferred its design (and because its publication date was forecast as a few days earlier, so that I could get & read it before the London signing)...

Got the colourful cover. Nice but not really necessary since it's what's inside that interests me. Still, it brightens up my room which is a good thing!
I have been looking for the big book - not in local Ottakars. Nor in local WHS - but then they have always been hopeless.
So I went to Farnham yesterday (vist to dentist!) and tried larger Ottakars there. They had one copy of small book hidden on the Hardback Fiction shelves - they had taken it off the 'latest titles' shelves - and no big books.
So I tried the WHS - no big or small books at all - not even on their order sheet. I read something last week about the new Head of WHS saying that most of the people who entered their stores left without purchasing anything. Can quite believe it.
I'll have to try Waterstones in Winchester next week. I refuse to go to either Portsmouth or Southampton as both are horrid places and it's difficult to park!
does anyone know if they're *ever* going to release the minotaur cover in a paperback/trade edition ? amazon.uk has it listed as a 'collectors/library' edition which makes me wonder.

I ordered the colorful (pardon the spelling) one from Amazon.co.uk because I couldn't wait any longer for the US edition to come out, and I hate the US covers. Should be here this week (rubbing hands together in glee and chuckling softly to self)
