Must say...

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed Something Rotten. I missed Aornis. I wonder where she was?
Other than the lack of a Hades family member I found it to be brilliant! And well worth the wait.
I managed to get my copy two days early for some reason, my local waterstones had it out! And of course, I have both covers!
I can't wait till TN5 now...

one of us has ot the wrong end of the stick here. i thought that there wasn't going to be a TN5!

i'd love one, but everything seems tied up and finished.

have to say that i loved the journey through the next world!

truley amazing works of fiction.

make them into a movie dammit!!

Charlie, everything is soooooooo not tied up and finished, even though a lot of it was. The info on there not being a TN5 may come from a misunderstanding: the next book is not a Next book (it's Nursery Crimes, without Thursday), but there is the Samuel Pepys Fiasco coming up a few days after a Saturday.

And I'm pretty sure Jasper has said he'll only let a movie be made when he really needs the cash. I would like to see it. But inevitably, the book will be better.

While I would love to see a film version of the TN books, somehow I don't think they will work - what makes these books brilliant is that so much of what works in the books works because it's on the page. The footernoter in the later boks wouldn't be as funny if it was just like an earpiece or something. The reason I love these books is because so much depends on the imagination and what the reader brings to the books - a movie would take that away.

There will definitely be a TN-5, so have no fear! Jasper said that the future TN books will probably be more of a stand-alone complete story rather than the cliffhangers the last ones have been. And he mentioned that all the characters we love will still be there...afterall, Jasper IS the master of the bazillion plot book! LOL

I sincerely wish that Fforde doesn't need any cash and there is no TN movie to be made. TN is purely words' world and full of word plays. I rather keep my visual and not influenced by the movie, since I'm sure I want to see it if there was a movie.
