I read this book a couple of weeks ago and I find that it hangs on my mind rather. I find myself trying to see the word as a red, or a blue woud. I even took an Ishihara test online, and looked up some of the shades mentioned.
One thing I've noticed is that at night we're all greys. Twilight is the time when all the natural colour drains out of the world and our greyscale night vision comes to the fore. So why do red lights not affect our night vision?
One theory I've pondered is that the people inshades of grey might not be human at all. Certainly most of us don't have barcodes in our fingernails. Maybe the something that happened was the extinction of the human race, to be replaced by who exactly? Lost toys or androids? Pets?
At the risk of appearing dim... What did Jane put in the prefects' scones?
Thanks,
Fran
