The thing about the Turing test, I believe, that it is *relatively* easy to get a computer to pass it within a specific discussion type, eg counselling, but has never been comprehensively done if you're allowed to talk about anything to it. AI just isn't up to it - the human brain and language capacity is still way beyond anything we can simulate.
Am I imagining it, or didn't we have an expert in AI on here somewhere a few months back? Was it Sara (who seems to have disappeared) or am I making that up?

I think Teri has a big project due...She works for Adobe software on the Illustrator team, I believe and I think they're in the process of doing a new version rollout.
