Bits of flesh dropped off them from

And sank into the pool's mire.
They also smelt a great deal.
Almost McGonagallesque.....
apparently in the original radio series it referred to Paul Neil Milne Johnstone, but Adams was forced to retract the name for later recordings and for the book.
